High Protein Vegan Smoothie Recipe and Nutrition Facts

The past few weeks have been insanely busy for me as I’ve been working hard daily to complete my 200 hour yoga teacher training course. Becoming a yoga teacher has been something that I’ve wanted to do for so many years and I am so excited to finally do it! I begin my master’s program for international education in Spain in a few weeks so I’ve been trying to get my yoga teacher training done before my summer vacation ends.

I wanted to share this quick and easy recipe that I have been loving making during these busy days. I LOVE food, especially healthy food that is nutritious and delicious. But for me, sometimes cooking meals can take too much time, energy and planning. I started making this smoothie at the beginning of the summer and I’ve had it almost every day! It’s so good and packed with protein that made it perfect to drink after yoga practice.

*Note: this recipe is high in sugar, however most of the sugar is natural from the fruit. This recipe includes only 5.5g of added sugars (included in the 37.7g in the label).

*Note to reduce the amount of sugar in this recipe you can use less or no dates and less or no agave syrup.

For this recipe I used powdered peanut butter. I love powdered peanut butter because it is high in protein and much lower in fat than regular peanut butter. My favorite powdered peanut butter is PB2. It mixes easily in smoothies, yogurt, and water. They also make it in a chocolate flavor which I love eating with fruit, vegan ice cream or just alone.

I used my NutriBullet blender which I love for smoothies and iced coffee drinks and will definitely miss while I’m in Spain.
